Written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and national treasure Paula Vogel, The Long Christmas Ride Home weaves powerful LGBTQ+ themes into an exploration of identity and family dynamics in one act.

This play explores memory, family, damage, survival and repair. It asks, “What do we do with the people who hurt us, the people we hurt, and our earlier selves? What do we continue to carry?”

The Long Christmas Ride Home is an intimate, inventive, at times hilarious piece of theatre that moves between tenderness and shocking moments with ease. Through Vogel's evocative language, puppetry, and direct storytelling, a single Christmas journey becomes a story that stretches across decades, revealing how just one fleeting moment can remain present in the lives of family members forever.
