Statement of Purpose

Indy Pride, Inc. established an educational scholarship program to reward future and current students attending an accredited Indiana-based university or college who are making significant contributions to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, Questioning/Queer, and Straight Ally (LGBTQS) community through their academic pursuits. The scholarship program also provides for those who identify as members of the LGBTQS community and demonstrate a lack of financial support to attend an institute of higher education.

Scholarship Process

Once the application is released, the applicant will have approximately 30 days to submit. After the deadline, the Scholarship Committee, made up of members of the Indy Pride Board of Directors and community volunteers, will meet to begin vetting the applications and to verify letters of recommendations and enrollment. The committee will then distribute the verified applications for evaluation to all members of the Board of Directors, as well as community volunteers.

The Board of Directors will discuss all applications and decide which applicants will be awarded scholarships. The scholarships will be awarded at the annual Night to Unite event.

How Money is Distributed

Scholarship funds will be distributed directly to the university for the next eligible semester.

Ineligibility

You must wait one year before applying for an Indy Pride, Inc. scholarship if you received one previously.
