INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 23, 2017 – Indy Pride, Inc. announced today that Executive Director Chris Handberg M. Ed. has been selected as a finalist for the 2017 Indy’s Best and Brightest Awards Program presented by Junior Achievement of Central Indiana. He has been chosen as one of 100 finalists in 10 industries to be honored at the program held at The Hilbert Circle Theatre on Nov. 9, 2017 at 6 p.m.

“We are proud to have Chris represent Indy Pride in the education and nonprofit category,” said Jason H. Nolen-Doerr, President of Indy Pride “In his short time with Indy Pride, he has made himself indispensable and has opened our city to more opportunities and a larger impact than was previously attainable.”

Junior Achievement of Central Indiana (JACI) hosts the Best and Brightest Awards Program each year as an extension of its youth career education program. JACI creates a narrative with this program that celebrates professionals under 40 to show that selecting a wide variety of career paths can lead to success and impactful change in the local community, no matter one’s age or industry.

“It truly is an honor to be recognized for all the work that goes into local programs like Indy Pride, Domestic Violence Network and The Julian Center,” Handberg said. “The support and encouragement our team here and the community’s enthusiastic involvement makes it possible for us to accomplish the great things that are being rewarded by Junior Achievement.”

Finalists will be judged on professional accomplishments, leadership qualities and their positive effect in Central Indiana. The program on Nov. 9th will recognize all 100 finalists as well as the winning finalist from each industry.
