Dear PRIDE Community,

As many of you have seen, tickets for the 2017 Circle City IN Pride Festival are now on sale for $4 in advance or $5 at the door.  We have decided to add a price of admission to this year’s festival for many reasons, but our utmost concern is to support the LGBTQ+ community and ensure the safety of all attendees this summer.  That said, Indy Pride is committed to maintaining the accessibility of its programming and will be partnering with service partners throughout the state to help those in financial need experience the festival. Additionally, anyone can purchase “solidarity tickets” that will be held at the entrance gates to assist those in need.

Indy Pride has seen consistent growth since its inception over 25 years ago, and this year we expect that growth to continue. We are invigorated to be surrounded by such dedicated supporters who believe in the mission of Indy Pride. We want to take full advantage of this opportunity to provide support to the LGBTQ+ community in Indianapolis and Central Indiana. Your ticket will be an investment in this community that funds scholarships for LGBTQ+ students, grants to LGBTQ+ organizations throughout the state and local community, and programming to create a safe space for LGBTQ+ youth and develop future leaders.

Even with the right for same sex marriage firmly established in 2015, we are continually reminded that Indiana is an important place to show our PRIDE with institutional oppositions like the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. A year ago, we were reminded the importance of protecting our community as we mourned together the more than 49 lives that were lost in the Pulse tragedy in Orlando. In that moment, we knew that ensuring the safety of everyone who attends Circle City IN Pride should be the top priority. With these ticket sales we hope to continue to show our PRIDE while ensuring the safety of attendees and volunteers as we continue to fight for equality together.

Price of admission will also include improved hydration and cooling stations and a Family Fun Zone with family-friendly entertainment. No admission will be charged at 13 of the 17 events during PRIDE week. The Rainbow 5K is $40 on race day. Girl Pride will be $20 in advance and $25 at the door, and Pride Skate will be $15. All other events after the Festival will remain free and open to the public.
